E-Sky Honey Bee CP2 Micro-Helicopter

My son bought himself one of these Micro-Helis a few weeks ago.  After a number of attempts to learn how to fly, the beast gave up the ghost.  The red LED on the 4-in-1 blinks twice when powering up, and then stays red. SOLUTION: Make sure the Throttle *AND* the Trim are all the way down.

The excellent forum at http://www.rcgroups.com has described problems with the 4-in-1 and how it's easy to pop a MOSFET.  Sadly I'm not sure how to tell if my 4-in-1 is dead.  Below are a few pictures of the internals of the 4-in-1, and I hope based on the symptoms and the evidence somebody can suggest a remedy!
